Erik Aker is a freelance writer in San Diego, California and his articles have appeared in San Diego CityBeat, Policy Today, and the Ventura County Reporter. In addition, he has published poetry in Ibid, the Berkeley Poetry Review, and Satellite, and he was recognized for the 2000 Ina Coolbrith Award in Poetry.
Erik Aker also holds a Master of Arts degree in Humanities from the University of Chicago, and for the past 8 years he’s taught English Literature and argumentative writing as an adjunct at community colleges in San Diego and at San Diego State University.
Finally, all posts here at the Schreibmaschine are first composed on a Smith-Corona Silent Super (pictured at right) before they’re uploaded to the site.
